We focused on the shift from browser-only AI use toward direct, practical use through the terminal. The point was not to turn everyone into engineers. The point was to show that natural language can now bridge the gap between intention and technical execution.

You do not need to be a programmer to begin exploring terminal-based AI.

The most important shift is understanding that we can use natural language. We can speak to the AI in plain English and describe what we want it to do.

During the session, we demonstrated how OpenAI Codex can be used in the terminal to organize a folder of scanned drawings.

The original folder contained 26 hand-drawn sketches named generically, like Scan 1, Scan 2, and Scan 3.

Using one natural-language prompt, we asked Codex to take care of the full organizational pass for us.

• Look at each image
• Rename each file based on what appeared in the drawing
• Keep the original number order
• Create a new folder for the renamed files
• Generate a spreadsheet tracking the files
• Include file names, descriptions, dimensions, file type, file size, and other useful details

This kind of task could easily take hours if done manually, especially for artists, designers, photographers, researchers, small business owners, or anyone managing large groups of files.

The demo showed how AI can help transform repetitive production work into a more usable system.

We briefly discussed a few AI tools that can work in or alongside the terminal. Each one has a different feel and workflow. Some are better for collaborative back-and-forth, while others may be better for deeper technical tasks.

At BeMinded Studio, our work is focused on helping good companies and thoughtful founders become easier for both people and AI systems to understand, recommend, and trust.

This was our first event, and it certainly won’t be our last.

We’ll be hosting more workshops, demonstrations, and conversations about AI, marketing, websites, creative workflows, and practical tools for small businesses and founders.

We hope the session made these tools feel a little less mysterious and a lot more approachable.
